I get excited around this time of year because we are wrapping up the 2020 financial year as we approach the end of June. It’s a moment where I spend time with my clients reflecting on the previous twelve months. We look at their stats, their numbers, how they ended up, what worked, what didn’t. But more importantly, setting up a plan for the new 2021 financial year.

I thought I’d share with you one of the initiatives that we put in place for most of my clients. Go through every single past appraisal. No matter how old it is. Reconnect with them.

Right now there are two things you can raise.

Update them on the current market

Give them an update as to what the market’s doing. What is the real estate climate currently, now that we appear to be through the worst of COVID and people are getting on with their plans.

What are their plans for the new financial year?

Have that end of financial year or start of a new financial year conversation. You might ask them ‘with the start of a new financial year, I often check in with clients I’ve had dealings with in the past, to see what your plans might be? Is there anything you’d like to achieve this new financial year in terms of real estate?’.

It’s a good conversation to be having and it’s a great initiative right now for you to get your pipeline as strong as possible as you move into the new first quarter of 2021.
