Welcome to the first Coaching On The Go episode for 2025! … and yes, I’m embracing the corny but powerful motto for this year: Twenty Twenty Thrive. Let’s make this the year you truly thrive.
After a rejuvenating break and a full return to coaching, I’ve already noticed a recurring theme in conversations with clients. The same thinking patterns, beliefs, and self-talk from last year are reappearing—patterns that might have held you back from reaching your goals in 2024.
Join me in Episode 119 of Coaching on the Go as we explore answers to one question that impacts your narrative about what is going on for you.

In Episode 119, “What Do You Choose to Believe About Yourself in 2025?” learn how to challenge your predispositions, align your inner dialogue with your goals, and thrive in your personal and professional life.

As I’ve returned to coaching, training, and catching up with clients, one question has been at the forefront: What are you choosing to believe is true about you this year?
I’ve noticed a pattern of limiting beliefs creeping into conversations, whether it’s about organisation, fitness, or confidence. These statements, starting with “I am”, shape the way we see ourselves—and ultimately, the results we achieve.
The good news? You have the power to rewrite that narrative. By becoming mindful of your internal dialogue and reframing negative self-talk, you can align your beliefs with the goals you’ve set for this year.
In this episode, I share simple strategies to challenge your predispositions, reframe your thinking, and set yourself up to thrive. Your predisposition isn’t predetermination—you can choose to create a new story for yourself.
The Power of “I Am”
As I’ve listened to my clients, I keep hearing phrases like:
- “I’m just not organised.”
- “I’m easily distracted.”
- “I’m no good with numbers.”
On a personal level, it sounds like:
- “I’ve never been good at a fitness routine.”
- “I’m not a morning person.”
- “Healthy eating isn’t my thing.”
These statements all have something in common: the “I am” structure. Your internal narrative is shaped by what follows those two words, and this narrative ultimately determines who you believe yourself to be. What you say after I am becomes your truth. But here’s the key: you have the power to rewrite it.
A Simple Switch: Transform Your Language, Transform Your Life
If you’ve set goals for 2025—whether personal, professional, or both—your internal language needs to align with those goals. Here’s how:
- Listen to Your Internal Dialogue:
Become aware of how often you use I am. When you catch yourself saying something limiting, pause. - Switch the Narrative:
Replace limiting beliefs with empowering ones. For example:- Instead of “I’m unfit,” say “I’m building my fitness routine.”
- Replace “I’m disorganised” with “I’m creating structure in my day.”
My Personal Example
Over the holidays, I let my routines slide—less exercise, indulgent eating, and a few too many cocktails. I caught myself thinking, “I’m so unfit.” But I chose to shift that narrative.
Now, I’m telling myself:
- “I’m in a fitness routine.”
- “I’m taking care of myself.”
- “I’m making mindful choices.”
This simple change in language has already led to better habits and renewed motivation. It’s a small but powerful shift that’s helping me thrive.
Predisposition vs. Choice
While it’s true that we all have predispositions—natural tendencies or traits—they don’t define our future. Predisposition isn’t predetermination. You can choose to change your trajectory, starting with your thoughts.
Your Challenge for 2025
Take a moment to reflect on this question:
What are you choosing to believe is true about you this year?
Write it down. Make it intentional. Then watch how this simple mindset shift starts to unlock your potential.
Let’s Thrive Together
This year, let’s challenge limiting beliefs, embrace new narratives, and truly thrive. I’d love to hear what truths you’re choosing for 2025—share them in the comments, and let’s support each other in making this a year to remember.
